Where is the Menorah?

As the City of Streetsboro began setting up its light display at the center of the city, many were wondering, where is the Menorah?

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Streetsboro Mayor Glenn Broska, stated "we received an email today asking why the Menorah was not up on the sqaure. It was not by design but out of necessity to completely rewire it. After the years of being displayed there were issues with the wiring and it needed repaired. As soon as it's repaired it will be back up."

The city's Holiday Lighting event takes place on Thursday, November 30th. The Menorah may not be up by then, but in a comment on that same Facebook post by Streetsboro's Mayor, Parks and Recreation Service Director Sal Ruffo, stated, "the lighting of the Menorah is not until December 7th this year." He also stated, "I am the guy putting it out, so yes, it will be put out before December 7th."

On a further note, this situation is not uncommon for city light displays. Just a few years ago, the Streetsboro had to repair many of the light displays it had for many years. Sometimes these displays and their electrical issues are not noticed until the next season when they are put out for display.
