Meet Streetsboro" was a series started by the Gateway News when the paper covered Streetsboro. Streetsboro News is bringing that series back in an effort to get to know the people who make Streetsboro a great place to live and work.
Our next person on the "Meet Streetsboro" series is Anthony Lombardo. Anthony is the Ward 2 City Council Representative. Anthony was appointed to the vacant seat in May of 2021 and was elected in November of 2023 to continue serving in that role.

How long have you lived in Streetsboro?
I have lived in Streetsboro for almost 11 years

Ward 2 Streetsboro City Council
Why did you run for local office?
I ran for this position so I could represent the residents of Streetsboro without having a personal agenda in politics. This is the perfect opportunity to be more involved with the community and I really enjoy it.
How long have you been in office?
2 1/2 years
What is the biggest thing you have accomplished in your position? (If you have already served)
Participating in discussions at meetings with other City Council members on multiple topics. I think that one of the biggest things that we can do as elected officials is to get involved and talk through items.
What's the biggest thing you want to see happen or accomplish during your upcoming term?
One of the biggest accomplishments I would like to see happen is to continue building this City while being financially responsible. If these two items can continue to happen, we have a wonderful future ahead.
How would you describe Streetsboro to someone who has never been here?
Streetsboro in my opinion is a special city in portage county that is growing in so many ways. It doesn't matter if you are single, married, or have a family. The location is perfect and the community is very welcoming. Where else can you live and have access to just about anything. You can handle banking, shopping and easy access to the freeway and turnpike.
What is your favorite thing about, or favorite thing to do in Streetsboro?
My favorite thing to do here in Streetsboro is taking the family to the parks on summer evenings after going to grab a bite to eat. This City has a wide variety of dining locations along with several play grounds for the children.
Tell us about your family.
In 2011 Deanna and I got married. Deanna and I have two children. My daughter Brooke is 6 years old and my son Brayden is 4 years old. We enjoy going to the Streetsboro city parks and staying busy. Family time is very important and we try to participate in as many activities as possible.
What are your hobbies?
Currently my hobbies include being with my family whenever possible. We go to stores, parks, restaurants, activities, and much more.
Interesting fact that most people don't know about you?
While playing vintage baseball during the Streetsboro Bicentennial event last year, I fractured my ankle and required surgery.
